About Us
In 1895, David Sam Romig founded The Romig Agency after he sold enough policies from his three-wheeled bicycle to open an office. Since that time in the 1890’s, it had remained a family owned and operated business for two additional generations. In 1986, Michael “Obie” Oberholzer purchased the insurance agency from the Romig family. Upon Obie’s retirement in 2005, his son, Michael P. Oberholzer and Doug Ross purchased the agency. Doug became sole owner in November, 2018. Under the new leadership of Doug Ross, The Romig Agency retained its name and reputation for delivering the highest quality products at the most cost-effective prices.

Douglas J. Ross Sr.
Doug Ross is President of The Romig Agency, Inc. He started at The Romig Agency in 1992. Doug’s “Hands On” customer service for his clients will always be his #1 priority!

A former member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Doug is a Life, Health and Property and Casualty licensed agent. His LUTCF designation demonstrates his continued educational process in the insurance industry.
Doug attended St. Mary’s, Central Catholic, and John Carroll University throughout his educational life. Doug has many outside interests that include family and friends. He is most comfortable volunteering for local community fundraisers. Most special is his desire for public awareness of those who are mentally retarded and people with development disabilities. Doug and his wife Jody live in Dennison Ohio. They have four children (Dougie, Ricky, Erin and Katie).
Beth Dennison
Beth joined the The Romig Agency, Inc. in 2011. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Walsh University in 1996 and is a licensed life and health agent. Beth believes that excellent customer service combined with expert insurance knowledge, are two key factors in effectively placing coverage for our customers.
She and her husband Matt have two daughters. They attend Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison, Ohio and reside in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Douglas J. Ross Jr.
Doug Jr. joined The Romig Agency after spending five years working as an Account Manager for Medical Benefits Administrators in Newark, OH. There, he worked hand-in-hand with employers from all industries in assisting them with the administration of their employee benefit plans. His experience in serving his clients has given him a unique perspective and understanding of the day-to-day benefit needs employers both large and small encounter.
He is a graduate of Immaculate Conception, Tuscarawas Central Catholic, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Kent State University.
Christine Szymialis
Christine is an agent of The Romig Agency, Inc. She has been employed since 1980. Chris is a Life and Health licensed agent who specializes in Medicare Supplements. She is licensed in both Florida and Ohio. Chris is the Accounting Manager at The Romig Agency, Inc.
Chris attended Immaculate Conception and graduated from Indian Valley North High School. Chris has three sons and six granddaughters.
